Onur Aydın

Onur Aydın is an experienced education professional who graduated from Gazi University, Department of Social Studies Teaching. Starting his career in a tutoring centre, Aydın worked as a social studies teacher for five years and made significant contributions to the intellectual and cognitive development of young minds. In the 2017-2018 academic year, she worked as an education specialist, expanding her expertise in her field by conducting intensive research on educational methodologies and programmes. Between 2018 and 2023, Aydın reinforced his leadership skills as an assistant principal at Maya Schools and made great contributions to the functioning of educational institutions. As of the 2023-2024 academic year, He worked as the R&D and Innovation Coordinator at both Maya Schools and Teacher First Foundation (ÖÖV) and successfully managed national and international projects. At Maya Schools, he leads the Global Schools programme, which aims to implement the 17 Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations, while at ÖÖV he is the coordinator of the Horizon Project ICSE Factory. Aydın also conducts research on the application of artificial intelligence tools in school environments and explores how these new technologies can lead to positive transformations in the education sector. In the ‘Journey of Pet Bottles’ project, he initiated a recycling journey in pet bottle filling production facilities and then organised a toy campaign with 3D printers by turning recycled pet bottles into filament and spreading the project. In co-operation with Balgat Industrial Vocational High School, Aydın is leading the transformation of the school’s IT classrooms into robotic automation processes. In this context, he runs a programme introducing machine learning and artificial intelligence-supported programmes to high school students and involves them in the entrepreneurship ecosystem at an early age, enabling them to make presentations in front of a jury at the Ankara Technology Centre (TEKMER). Through his efforts to integrate innovation and technology into education, Onur Aydın stands out as a pioneer in promoting sustainable and effective changes for the future of education.
